PT Gizi Untuk NegeriEnsuring Access to Nutritious Meals – Nutritional Provision Service Unit
Indonesia continues to face significant challenges in child nutrition, which directly affect the long-term quality of its human capital. The national stunting rate remains approximately 21.06%, placing Indonesia 27th out of 154 countries, while the country's average IQ is still below the Asian average. In addition, around 70% of children skip breakfast before going to school, causing many to begin their day with limited energy and concentration. These conditions highlight the urgent need for structured and sustainable interventions to ensure that children receive adequate daily nutrition.
In response to these challenges, PT Gizi Untuk Negeri supports the establishment of Nutritional Provision Service Unit in West Java as part of the National Strategic Program for Free Nutritious Meals, administered by the National Nutrition Agency. These facilities function as centralized production and distribution hubs for daily nutritious meals, serving school children and vulnerable communities, ensuring that essential nutritional needs are met consistently and in accordance with standardized health and safety guidelines.
In its implementation, PT Gizi Untuk Negeri collaborates with FoodPedia as the kitchen operator and Yayasan Global CEO Indonesia as the program's official partner. This collaboration ensures that the entire food supply chain—from menu planning and raw material procurement to food preparation and distribution—is managed in accordance with nutritional standards, food safety requirements, and controlled operating procedures, thereby maintaining consistent service quality and operational reliability.
This support enables stable and efficient daily operations, directly benefiting approximately 2,000 school children and breastfeeding mothers each day, while simultaneously stimulating the local economy through the involvement of farmers, MSME suppliers, logistics partners, and kitchen workforce employment. Beyond a short-term assistance initiative, this program functions as sustainable social infrastructure, ensuring consistent access to adequate nutrition, enhancing learning capacity, and supporting the long-term health and productivity of future generations. This approach reflects the principles of impact investing, where financing not only generates measurable social benefits but also delivers sustainable, long-term outcomes for the community.
